We’re so excited! Sarah and I are off to IZEAFest 2017. Grandparents have been briefed and the kids schedules are set. Buh bye Minnesota! I’ll be returning to the blog after flying a four-day trip immediately following IZEAFest to update you on our experience.
Last year we had so much fun and met a ton of great online talent. This year we can’t wait to meet more blogger and marketing friends like Nick Evans of Macheesmo, Paula Rollo of Beauty Through Imperfection, and Sadie Jane of Simply Sadie Jane. Of course, there were others too! We hung out with Lee Gordon, Ted Murphy, and dozens of other talented personalities. We can’t wait to meet even more people this year and that’s why you can’t miss IZEAFest in the future.
What is IZEA?
IZEA “connects influential content creators with the world’s biggest brands.” If you want to be a professional blogger or influencer because of a social following you have, you can’t miss working with IZEA.
I have worked with IZEA for years and they are complete professionals. As a creator, one of the biggest concerns is getting a job that you just don’t like or that partners you work with dry up. IZEA has been consistent income for me and I have always been given a lot of control of the content. I’ve never been pressured to write things I don’t believe. IZEA has helped me monetize and stay authentic to my readers at the same time.
Speaking at IZEAFest
This year, I am on a panel called: “Cracking the Content Code: Live Streaming, VR, AR, Storytelling and Consumer ADD:” Look at this awesome lineup I’m with! Very exciting!
Dayvee Sutton – USA Today Networks
Lee Gordon – Mercury Marine

Social media influencing and content creation happens socially and IZEAFest very purposefully makes being social happen. Last year, IZEA rented out part of Hollywood Studios including the Rockin’ Rollercoaster and the Tower of Terror as a private party for the attendees. This year will be an exclusive party at Universal Orlando Resort and at the Gaylord Palms.
Here’s the thing, this isn’t just a party. It’s a party where brands, agencies, and influencers get to be together and learn about each other. I met many brands and agencies last year and it made me a much better influencer and content creator because I understood my customers better.
