Lilac Jelly

A sweet and flowery jelly
Ingredients
  • 2 cups lilac flowers
  • 2¼ cup water
  • ¼ cup lemon juice
  • 4 cups sugar
  • 1 packet powdered sure jell
Instructions
  1. Place the lilac flowers in a bowl and pour 2¼ cups of boiling water over them. Let sit for overnight or for a full day.
  2. When the tea is done, heat the lilac tea, lemon juice and Sure Jell in a medium pot until it boils. Pour in all of the sugar at one time and keep heating and stirring it until it boils for one minute. Pour the hot jelly into the prepared cans leaving ¼ inch headspace. Water bath for 10 minutes. Make sure the cans seal within 24 hours.
