Ok. I admit, this is a sister post to our last one; Crispy Jalapeno Poppers Bites (You can see them over at Dan330.com too plus Dan330 has a TON of great jalapeno recipes if this isnt what you are looking for.) I did this second post because I had all these great ingredients out and I had to try a few different ways of putting them together. These Cheese Curd Jalapeno Poppers are a little more like the traditional jalapeno poppers than our last recipe but have the fun zest of a melted cheese curd. You’re going to love them.
Cheese Curd Jalapeno Poppers
I’m not sure if this is the best appetizer out there, but it might be. It combines the saltiness and fattiness of bacon, creaminess of cheese, with the freshness and spice of jalapeno. Baked correctly, it has a variety of textures too. The cheese carmelizes, the bacon crisps, and the inside is hot and gooey.
Making these poppers if very easy. All you need is some fresh jalapenos, cream cheese, cheese curds, and bacon. Cut the jalapenos in half and scoop out the insides. Fill with a little cream cheese and top with the cheese curd. Finally, wrap with bacon and bake at 400 degrees until the bacon is cooked; about 15 to 20 minutes.
Place several of the Cheese Curd Jalapeno Poppers on a baking tray and arrange as shown.
Remove and enjoy.
A twist on the traditional jalapeno popper, this recipe is made with cheese curd. It makes an amazing finger food to serve to friends as an appetizer or as a tailgating snack.
