My favorite sauce to put onto a salmon is this homemade dill sauce with cucumbers. It is easy to make, very light, and contrasts the richness of salmon with it’s light and fresh chopped cucumbers.
Dill Dip for Salmon
About twenty minutes earlier, I started two salmon fillets on my Traeger. We are going to smoke them for half an hour and then finish cooking them at 225 for an additional hour. This will make a fabulous smokey crust and flavor to the rich and delicate flakey meat of the salmon. The goal with this dill sauce is to lighten the meal a bit and round it out with a little bit of acid from the lemon and freshness from the cucumber.
Here’s the Traeger Smoked Salmon recipe for reference, and this is the video making it and the Dill Sauce. You can see how fantastic the smoked salmon turned out. Maybe I’ll try to make a smoked salmon dip with it tomorrow!
